How long does a brake repair or replacement take?

It’s tough to say until we know exactly what needs to be done but you can expect to leave your vehicle with us for as long as a day. Generally, though, the replacement of brakes takes a few hours.

When do I need a Brake Repairs?

Common signs that it is time for new brakes include:

  • A metal on metal type sound or squealing when you apply the brakes.
  • You need to apply more pressure than normal to get your vehicle to slow down or stop.
  • A vibration on the brake pedal or the steering wheel.
  • While braking you feel a pull to the left or right.

Why should I get a brake inspection before replacing or repairing my brakes?

You probably would not be surprised to know that misdiagnosis of a mechanical problem is a common issue. One of the main reasons for this is not properly inspecting the source of a problem. A proper inspection before fixing your brakes will ensure you are not just “throwing parts at the problem”. An hour of inspection time could save many times more hours in unnecessary repairs.
